You should also be able to present the EAN code. Furthermore, the inspector checks that the electrical diagrams associated with the installation are properly formatted. He also gathers some information such as who owns the electrical system.<\/li>\n<li><strong><br \/>\n  <u>Visual inspection:<\/u><br \/>\n<\/strong> Now comes a visual inspection where the inspector reads the meter and checks that the single-wire diagram and situation plan match your electrical installation. He also checks that everything is still properly connected and that the electrical box is still in good condition and safe to operate. Sockets, light switches, electrical wires&#8230; in your home are also checked.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Perform test and measurement checks:<\/u><\/strong><u> <\/u>Finally, the expert performs a number of grounding and insulation measurements to verify that the installation is operating in a safe manner. In addition, it also inspects a number of other things, such as the operation of differential switches, of any solar panels, air conditioners, charging stations, heat pumps&#8230;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-7854\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7854\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-caret-right\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened\"><i class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened fas fa-caret-up\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">What do I need especially before the inspection can take place?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7854\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7854\"><p>Even before you call someone to have your electrical system inspected, make sure you are in possession of the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Duck wire diagram<\/strong>: <strong>schematic representation<\/strong> of the electrical installation. This includes connections and symbols for power circuits, connections&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Position diagram<\/strong>: as the name suggests, the position diagram is a representation of the <strong>exact location of the components<\/strong> of your electrical installation such as lights, outlets, electrical machines&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><strong>EAN number<\/strong>: a unique 18-digit EAN code is issued for each <strong>electricity supply point<\/strong>. Note that this is not your meter number but the number you get from your grid operator. If you already have an energy supplier, you will also find the EAN number on your bill. You can, of course, check with the previous occupant. So the number is <strong>not personal<\/strong> but <strong>more place-based<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-7855\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7855\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-caret-right\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened\"><i class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened fas fa-caret-up\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">How long does an inspection certificate remain valid?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7855\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7855\"><p>Since Oct. 1, 1981, it has been <strong>mandatory to have new electrical installations inspected<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to sell a home with an electrical system built before Oct. 1, 1981, you will need a new inspection report anyway. Unless, of course, you have already had an inspection done in the interim because of an aggravation or modification. In the latter case, a <strong>conformance report<\/strong> is sufficient.<\/p>\n<p>\u2666 <strong><br \/>\n  <u>TIP:<\/u><br \/>\n<\/strong> With a negative inspection report, you have 12 to 18 months to get a new inspection report. However, you can request a deferral from the FPS Economy.<\/p>\n<p>In all other cases, an <strong>inspection report<\/strong> is <strong>valid for 25 years<\/strong>. Then you need to have the entire electrical system re-inspected.
